Written Directions:

NOTE: Seam allowances are 1/2-inch unless otherwise stated.

Accent Band:

1. Place two pieces B of opposite colors together with right sides of fabric facing and matching        opposite long raw edges. The pieces should not line up along all raw edges, if they do, rotate one piece. Pin in place.

2. Sew along pinned edge. Press flat with seam open.
3. Continue adding alternating colors of piece B to the sewn pair, using the process outlined in steps 1-2, until all pieces B are used. The finished accent band should be a straight strip of alternating colored pieces B.
4.Topstitch along both edges of each seam in the accent strip to keep seams lying flat and add a finished look.
5. Set aside until step 10.

Assemble Loop:

6. Working with piece D, fold one edge toward the wrong side of the fabric ½” and press to hold fold. Repeat with opposite edge.
7. Fold in half, matching previously-folded edges with each other, along the folds. The raw edges should be nicely tucked into the inside of the folded strap. Press to hold.
8. Topstitch along both long edges, starting and stopping at the same short end each time to reduce fabric twisting.
9. Set aside until step 17.

Assemble Outside:

10. Center the accent band along one long edge of one piece A with right sides of fabric facing and long edges aligned. Smooth flat and pin. NOTE: If fabric prints are directional (have a top and a bottom to the design), make sure that the directions will be pointing in the same way when sewn together and opened.
11.Sew along pinned edge and press flat with seam behind piece A.
12. Topstitch along both sewn long edges.
13. Repeat steps 10-12 with second piece A and trim excess length of accent strip, if needed, so that sewn piece is a nice rectangle.
14. Cut one "handmade" tag about 1/4-inch wider than the lines on either side of the label. Fold cut ends to the wrong side along the line on either side of the label, press.
15. Place along topstitch seamline on one long side of piece A, about 1/2 inch above the stitching, parallel to stitch line and centered from side to side. Pin to hold in place.
16. Topstitch the tag in place along both folded short edges. Reverse stitch at beginning and end of each stitchline.
17. Fold the loop in half, matching raw ends with each other, and place with raw ends along top raw edge of sewn outside piece, on right side of fabric, 2" from one corner. Folded part of loop should be pointed toward the bottom of the sewn outside piece and all raw edges should line up. Pin in place.
18. Place one raw end of elastic along the bottom raw edge of sewn outside piece, on right side of fabric, with center 4.5" from one corner. Use 2 pins to hold straight and in place along the raw fabric edge.
19. Place second raw end of elastic along the bottom raw edge of sewn outside piece, just like in step 18, with center 4.5" from the other bottom corner.
20. Set aside until step 22.

Assemble Project:

21. Fuse interfacing piece C to fabric piece C. Make sure to arrange so that the bumpy side of the interfacing is facing the wrong side of the fabric. Use a press cloth or press from the fabric side to keep interfacing from melting.
22. Place piece C on outside piece with right sides of fabric facing and all raw edges lined up and pin. Elastic should be inside the pinned pieces and may cause one edge to not lie completely flat.
23. Sew around all 4 edges, leaving a 3" hole unsewn in one short edge. Reverse stitch at beginning and end.
24. Cut excess fabric from outside of stitch lines at all four corners.
25. Turn project right side out through hole left in step 23.
26. Press entire project flat, with seam lines pulled out to the edge of the project and raw edges turned into the hole about 0.5".
27. Topstitch along all four outside edges, careful to not sew over elastic.
28. Center loop half of hook-and-loop closure on one short end of the project with the back of the closure facing the lining of the project. Pin loop closure strip so that it is parallel with the short edge of the project and spaced 0.5" away from the short edge.
29. Carefully sew around all four edges of the loop closure strip, reverse stitching at beginning and end.
30. Center hook half of hook-and-loop closure on the opposite short end of the project with the back of the closure facing the outside of the project. Pin hook closure strip so that it is parallel with the short edge of the project and spaced 0.5" away from the short edge.
31. Carefully sew around all four edges of the hook closure strip, reverse stitching at beginning and end.
32. To use, place elastic under base of cleaning wipe up and wrap around wipe tub to close with hook-and-loop closure. Project is reversible.
