Cotton Fabric Cutter (Laser Operator)

Sew What Box is looking for a dependable part-time person to operate our CO₂ laser and help with a few other production tasks as needed.

Schedule: Set weekly schedule, with weekly hours set between 16-24 hours depending on candidate preference. No weekends, no Wednesdays. Shifts can be selected between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, with weekly staff meeting attendance required on Mondays at 12:30pm.

Location: In-person in Hauser/Post Falls near the intersection of Prairie and Beck. Located in a gated complex with shared bathroom about 200 yards walk from our units.

What you'll do:

  • Operate our CO₂ laser to cut fabric pieces for sewing project kits
  • Load and unload materials
  • Check finished pieces for accuracy and quality
  • Keep the work area organized
  • Fold fabric and help with other simple production tasks when laser work is caught up
  • Follow established instructions and production procedures

You don't need to be an expert. We'll train you on our equipment and processes.

We do need someone who:

  • Is at least 18 years old
  • Shows up reliably for scheduled shifts
  • Can follow instructions and is comfortable doing repetitive work
  • Pays attention to details and can distinguish between colors
  • Is willing to learn how to operate a machine
  • Can work independently once trained
  • Can stand/sit/walk for extended periods of time
  • Can lift up to 40 pounds

Previous experience with a laser, CNC machine, manufacturing equipment, sewing, or other production equipment is helpful but not required.

This is a hands-on production position. Most days will involve doing the same task repeatedly for several hours.

Our team values detail-oriented team members. As such, please apply to this position by emailing your resume to taylar@sewwhatbox.com with the subject line: I am sew excited for this laser job.

If you're looking for a straightforward part-time job where you can learn a machine, make things, and go home at the end of your shift, this may be a good fit.
