Backing:
41. Fuse interfacing to wrong side of large piece I with the bumpy side of interfacing facing the fabric. Press from fabric side to avoid melting interfacing with iron.
42. Arrange piece I on large sewn square piece with right sides of fabric facing and with piece I centered on the large sewn piece. Pin around all four edges.
43. Sew around all four pinned edges, leaving a 4 inch hole in the center of one long edge. Reverse stitch at beginning and end.
44. Cut excess fabric from outside of stitching at the corners and turn right side out through the hole left.
45. Poke corners out square, then press project flat. Press along edges, pulling stitch line so that it is out at the very edge of the project when pressed.
46. Turn raw edges into hole about 1/2 inch and press. Close so that folded edges match each other and pin to hold in place.
47. Topstitch around entire outer edge to hold flat and close hole.
