Production Assistant
Want to be an integral part of a small, growing company in the sewing/crafting industry? Want to be in a place where your ideas matter and you can be a part of a great and fun team?
You will be responsible for folding cotton fabrics, working with the rest of our team to assemble monthly subscription boxes in a timely manner, and helping to assemble any other items or products needed, while completing supporting production tasks along the way.
You will have the opportunity to be a part of a small and positive team, while making giant impacts on our company goal of helping people enjoy using their sewing machines through fun and exciting fabrics and project kits.
You’ll need to have a high attention to detail while also being able to keep up a fast production pace.
This role operates in a fast-paced production environment with defined hourly output targets. Candidates should be comfortable maintaining a steady, high pace throughout their shift.
Much of the work is repetitive and requires maintaining a consistent speed while meeting quality standards.
Why this Role Matters:
Our goal is to make sewing feel achievable in real life by creating projects that are easy to start and rewarding to finish. The work you do directly affects our customers’ experience—accurate fabric pieces, fabrics without flaws, and well-organized materials make the difference between a frustrating home-sewing project and a successful one.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in producing work that helps our customers feel confident and excited to sew.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure fabrics are folded accurately and on-schedule.
- Assemble project kits, fabric bundles, and other items.
- Complete prep-work for large packing days such as opening thread packaging, folding shipping boxes, etc.
- Maintain quality control standards while executing assembly, folding, or prep work tasks.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized.
- Any other actions deemed reasonable and necessary by management.
Hiring Requirements:
- Must be able to maintain a steady/fast pace in a production or quota-based environment.
- Must be able to follow and make adjustments to hit timelines and production schedules.
- Must be able to distinguish between colors.
- Must be able to stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Sewing knowledge and experience is preferred but not required.
Job Type: Part-time, set schedule. 15-18 hours per week.
Schedule: Hours are set, week-to-week, and can be Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays between the hours of 8am-4pm. Mondays are required. No weekends.
Work Location: In person. Post Falls near the intersection of Prairie and Beck. Located in a gated complex with shared bathroom about 200 yards walk from our units.
Pay: $16.00-$18.00/hour
This position does work with fabrics and sewing items, but it is a manufacturing-type environment with machinery, loud noises, dust, and odors.
