Job Title: Production/Assembly Technician
Job Location: Post Falls, ID
Reports to: General Manager
Starting Pay Range: $16-18/hr, DOE
Schedule: 15-25 hours per week, flexible shifts on weekdays between 7am and 6pm
Want to be an integral part of a small, growing company in the sewing/crafting industry?
You will be responsible for the cutting and folding of the cotton fabrics showcased in our sewing project kits, work with the rest of our team to assemble monthly subscription boxes in a timely manner, and help assemble any other items or products needed, while completing supporting production tasks along the way.
You will have the opportunity to be a part of a small and positive team, while making giant impacts on our company goal of helping people enjoy using their sewing machines through fun and exciting fabrics and project kits.
You’ll need at least 6 months of experience in some sort of assembly position, the ability to learn computer software, and preferably some experience with printers or machines.
Responsibilities:
- Cut fabrics with our laser cutting machine while wearing applicable PPE.
- Fold fabric bundles with speed and accuracy.
- Maintain quality standards by noticing and removing flawed material.
- Assemble items into bags and/or packaging.
- Gift-wrap special products, such as our seasonal Advent Calendars.
- Learn general operation of fabric printer and heat press.
- Ensure that cutting/printing machines are cleaned according to cleaning schedule.
- Create cutting files in vector graphics software like InkScape.
- Any other actions deemed reasonable and necessary by management.
Hiring Requirements:
- Must have 6+ months experience in assembly or a repetitive task position.
- Must have the ability to learn computer software.
- Must understand basic math, working in yards and inches.
- Must be able to distinguish between colors.
- Must be able to stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Experience working with printers or large machines is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with vector graphic software and/or CNC machines is preferred but not required.
- Sewing knowledge and experience is preferred but not required.
